What is a ‘Checked Baggage Special Declaration of Value’?

If you are travelling with high-value items (including mobility aids), we recommend you request a special baggage liability cover called ‘Checked Baggage Special Declaration of Value’ to safeguard against loss or damage. In the unlikely event of this occurring, our liability limit will increase from approx. €1,800 to €2,800 per person (or from 1,519 to 2,262 Special Drawing Rights as per the Montreal Convention 1999).
